Four Costa Rican companies in the information technology sector visited Canada in March 2018 to promote their software and app development services, Internet of Things and e-commerce solutions. Their objective was to identify prospective business partners and customers interested in co-development solutions to boost productivity.
Through support provided by PROCOMER’s Trade Promotion Office in Toronto, 35 business meetings were set up for QxD, ProximityCR, Sapiens Development and Ex2 Outcoding with Canadian businesses.
PROCOMER partnered with Innovation Guelph (link: https://innovationguelph.ca/about/), a Business Accelerator in Guelph to connect local technology companies with these leading-edge Costa Rican IT services providers. With Guelph being one of the fastest growing ICT Regions in Canada, and being strategically located along the Innovation Corridor, it was a great fit for the Costa Rican companies interested in entering the Canadian market.
As part of the program the Costa Rican companies visited technology incubators and accelerators in Toronto and the Waterloo Region to get a sense of the IT ecosystem in Ontario.
The trade mission was part of the follow-up of the Gateway to Trade program, that initiated in 2017, which was facilitated by the TFO Canada and supported by the Government of Canada.
